Building Blocks
This toddler group meets at the church
on Wednesdays (1.00-3.00 pm) and Thursdays
(9.30-11.15 am) during term time. All parents and carers
are invited to bring babies and toddlers to play, and it's a great
opportunity for the adults to make new friends and chat while the
children explore the toys.
Refreshments are provided for everyone,
and there is a craft activity for the children. We also have a varied
programme of short discussions, sometimes with a video on parenting
issues or with an outside speaker. We round off each session with
a short Bible story and some lively songs for the toddlers.
Call in any Wednesday
or Thursday to see Building Blocks in action.
Junior
Church
Beginners
(3-5 years)
learn about Jesus's love
through singing, stories, and activities.
Stars (5-7
years) usually go
into church for 10 minutes, then have our own programme of fun and
learning. We sing, have a Bible story and perhaps play a game. We
share news and pray with the children, and talk through ideas as
they work together.

J4Js (7-11
years) are a lively
and large department. Divided by school year, each group has two
leaders so that teaching is age related. Everyone then joins together
in worship. Parents and friends are encouraged to join us when the
church service finishes.
Extra activities include -
open air worship, safari lunches, outings, talent shows and parties
DJs (11 - 14 years) Our aim
is to help our youngsters see the relevance of Christ in their lives
and to put a Christian perspective on the events in the world around
us.
We meet upstairs at the lecture hall end of the church. We usually
join in the first part of the church service. We provide fun and
friendship, biscuits and soft drinks! We teach through games, drama,
debates, group chats and so on. We share prayers together and have
a prayer request board for all to use. We hope to get to know each
other well enough to share news and issues with each other.
Every three months we organise some social activity such as bowling,
Activity World, pizza parties and BBQs. These are good opportunities
to bring friends along and have a great deal of fun, which is the
key word for 11 to 14 year olds!
The leader is Jill Barber who can be contacted through the Church
Office.
