Church Choir
The choir is a major contributor to worship at High Street, leading the music at most morning and evening services. We also sing at weddings when asked. A basic ability to read music is important but many members of the choir have found that this skill develops quickly on joining the choir. The choir rehearses on Friday evenings from 8 pm.

We work hard but we also have a lot of fun and enjoy a close fellowship, with not infrequent social events. Every two or three years, we perform a major choral work with the help of other singers in our church and choir members from other churches. Any profits go to a nominated charity.

Orchestra
We have a group of musicians who accompany an evening service once a month, and some morning services. We use a good mix of styles, including traditional hymns and modern worship songs. We play a variety of instruments and the only requirement to join us is that you have an instrument and can sight-read well enough to keep up.

There is also a smaller group, used when it is not easy physically to fit in a large number of musicians or when a more reflective style of music is required.

New Creation
A choir for people in their teens and upwards. They rehearse every Monday evening and sing a variety of gospel songs - new and old. New Creation normally sing at our youth services, and often at Worship Together services.
They also visit other churches in the area,
and their four-part harmony is appreciated by all ages.
We are always pleased to hear from anyone who is interested.

Church Organ
The original Compton extension organ dates from 1932 and is totally enclosed. Pipework from a rebuilt Binns organ dating from 1893 has now been added to create new unenclosed Great and Pedal departments. The seven Compton ranks, together with some additions from the Binns, provide the Swell and Chior, and the enclosed part of the Pedal department.

The Church is grateful to the Williams Church Music Trust for generous donations received for the extension and upkeep of the organ.
